Question
Multiple primaries--Heme & Lymphoid Neoplasms: Is this a new primary? Diffuse large b-cell lymphoma diagnosed in 2003 of lymph nodes. Biopsy was of inguinal lymph node area. In 2012, there was a diagnosis made again of diffuse large b-cell lymphoma but this time is in the left cervical lymph node. Only documentation in record is that there is a history of Diffuse large b cell lymphoma.

Discussion

Answer
This is a single primary.

Per Rule M2, recurrence of the same histology is always the same primary (timing is not relevant). See note 2 under rule M2.
