This page details revisions to the 1973-2011 SEER Research Data (November 2013 Submission) and statistics throughout the SEER website.
Cases from the Greater California Registry
A problem was identified in the SEER incidence data that only affected cases from the Greater California registry for 2000-2011. There were 2,220 cases inadvertently dropped from the data.
SEER Research Data updated on May 7, 2014
The data files were updated on May 7, 2014 to include the missing cases.
- In client-server mode, you automatically have access to the updated data.
- For the compressed data files, download updated data files from the Access Options page.
- For DVD users, a new DVD was automatically shipped to you.
If you requested the data prior to May 7, 2014, please reproduce any statistics that you have already created that include Greater California (databases with SEER 18 in the name).
If you never ordered the 1973-2011 SEER research data, you must use the request form.
Statistics on the SEER web site updated on May 12, 2014
This error impacted the statistics calculated with SEER incidence data representing the SEER 18 registries available throughout the SEER web site. These include statistics available in the SEER Cancer Statistics Review 1975-2011, Cancer Stat Fact Sheets, Fast Stats, and the Cancer Query Systems (Canques). These statistics were updated on May 12, 2014.
