--------------- fixlen 1.8 --------------- The Fix Length software pads or truncates an ASCII text data file to a desired record length so that it can be processed with SEER*Prep. Either of two input file formats will be supported: 1. Flat file with fixed fields 2. Comma delimited (CSV) file - requires a SEER*Prep database definition (.dd) file for setting field positions and lengths. SEER*Prep supports only fixed length text input records. If the records are shorter than required, they must be padded with blanks. If they are longer, they must truncated to the supported length. If they are in comma delimited format they must be converted to the supported fixed length format.
