Table I-3 was temporarily removed - The Percent Change and APC for 1950-2001 were incorrectly calculated:

  • For incidence data, the yearly rates for 1950-1972 were age-adjusted using the 1970 standard million population, and the remaining years (1973-2001) were age-adjusted using the 2000 standard million population.
  • The mortality trends were based on rates age-adjusted using the 2000 standard million population.
Temporary removal of:
Table I-3: Summary of Changes in Cancer Incidence and Mortality, 1950-2001 and 5-Year Relative Survival Rates, 1950-2000

04/27/2004 A correction was made to the text in the footnote describing the calculation of SEER incidence and US mortality rates for Hispanics. The table data were not changed, the list of states excluded for Hispanic mortality was incomplete and was corrected. Incidence & Mortality by Race/Ethnicity tables (PDF, 150 KB)
