In a Limited-Duration Prevalence session, the Other (Case Files) box on the Selection tab consists of all variables found in the case data and not the population or standard population data. If you are using a SEER Limited-Use database, there may be demographic variables such as race and age available in this selection box that are not included in the population data for the selected database. SEER*Stat will give an error message, and not allow you to continue, if you try to execute a session calculating percents with any of these demographic variables.
The age recode variable for the database is available in this box and may be used when calculating percents, however, great care must be taken when using this variable. Please see Using Age at Diagnosis in Selection and Table Tabs for details.
