Selecting a Range of Values and Grouping in a Selection Line

left-img

For some variables, it is possible to select values both from defined groupings and from a range of values. One example of this in the SEER Limited-Use Data is the variable "Cause of Death (ICD-8 or 9)", found in the "Site and Morphology" category.

When you use both types of values in creating a selection statement, the values specified as ranges appear first on the line, followed by the values selected from the list of groupings. A comma separates the values. Commas within a line in a selection statement
