If you marked the Cumulative Summary check box on the Parameters tab, your Survival results matrix will contain one or more cumulative summary pages with the statistics you requested. You can choose to display or hide these statistics by marking or clearing the corresponding check boxes on the Matrix Options dialog.

  • N - Number of people alive at the start of the first interval used in the statistic displayed
  • Observed - Number of people alive at the start of the selected interval(s)
  • Expected - Cumulative Expected survival for the selected interval(s)
  • Relative - Cumulative Relative survival for the selected interval(s)
  • Cause-Specific - Cumulative cause-specific survival for the selected interval(s)
  • SE Obs - The standard error for the cumulative observed survival
  • SE Rel
  • SE Cause-Specific
  • Lower Observed Cumulative CIs
  • Upper Observed Cumulative CIs
  • Lower Relative Cumulative CIs
  • Upper Relative Cumulative CIs
  • Lower Cause-Specific Cumulative CI
  • Upper Cause-Specific Cumulative CI
  • Specified COD - Cumulative probability of dying due to the specified cause of death for the interval(s)
  • Other CODs - Cumulative probability of dying due to causes other than the specified cause for the interval(s)
  • SE Specified COD
  • SE Other CODs
  • Lower Specified COD Cumulative CI
  • Upper Specified COD Cumulative CI
  • Lower Other CODs Cumulative CI
  • Upper Other CODs Cumulative CI

If Period Survival is used, the above columns will be repeated for each Estimate Year specified on the Parameters tab, and the "N" column will be replaced with the following columns:

  • Min N - The smallest number of people alive at the start of the interval that begins this conditional range (for conditional survival) in any table that contributes to this statistic.
  • Max N - The largest number of people alive at the start of the interval that begins this conditional range (for conditional survival) in any table that contributes to this statistic.
