How to Login to SEER*Stat

left-img

If you run SEER*Stat in client-server mode, you must login when you connect to the server. You cannot use SEER*Stat in client-server mode without a SEER*Stat account. If you do not have an active account, request access to the SEER Incidence Data to obtain one.

Login Requirements

Starting with version 9.1.0, released September 10, 2026, SEER*Stat requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when you log in. We support these sign-in services:

  1. Login.gov for most SEER*Stat accounts
  2. NIH Login for NIH staff
  3. IMS Login for IMS employees

Details

  • You will be prompted to sign in using the Client-Server Login dialog when you first start a new session or open a session in SEER*Stat.
  • The email address associated with your sign-in service and the email address on your SEER*Stat account must be the same.
  • NIH and IMS staff should use their respective sign in services.
  • All other users must use Login.gov. Refer to the MFA page for help creating an account or adding another email address to an existing account.
  • After you successfully sign in through your sign-in service, your login information will be verified by the SEER*Stat server, and you will proceed to the SEER*Stat Session Window.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

  1. Account not found/does not match our records
    1. Check that you have an active SEER*Stat account.  If you do not, request access to the SEER Incidence Data to obtain one.
    2. If you have an account, make sure the email address on your sign in option matches the SEER*Stat account email.
  1. Inactive accounts/deleted accounts
    1. You must renew your SEER data access each year after the April release of the latest submission of data to keep your SEER*Stat account active.
    2. Refer to the SEER Data FAQs for more information.

If you forgot your SEER*Stat account email or need other help logging in, contact SEER*Stat Technical Support.

Login Messages and Warnings

Once you have logged in to the server, a brief message from the SEER*Stat administrators may be displayed. These messages communicate important or time-sensitive information about the SEER*Stat systems and may contain a link to learn more.

You can prevent a message from being displayed the next time you log in by marking the Do not show this message in future box and clicking OK. You will see the message again if it changes, or if you click the Turn on Warning Messages button on the Preferences dialog.

After you log in, a progress bar may be displayed while SEER*Stat checks the integrity of the databases in your server data locations.
