Edit a Variable

To modify an existing user-defined or merged variable, follow these steps:

1. Open the dictionary.
2. Open the "User-Defined" or "Merged" folder and highlight the variable you want to modify.
3. Click Edit. The Edit Variable dialog or Edit Merged Variable dialog will be displayed.
4. Edit the settings on those dialogs as desired.
5. Check Save to Dictionary if you want the variable to be available for database-wide use. If the variable has already been saved to the dictionary, then this check box cannot be unchecked.
6. Click OK to close the Edit Variable or Edit Merged Variable dialog and save your changes. Click Close to close the dictionary when you are finished.
