Macrobeads consist of small beads that contain mouse cancer cells from a mouse kidney cancer line. The cells in the beads produce substances that have been shown to slow or stop the growth of tumors in Phase I saftey trials. It is now in being elvaluated for its effect on tumor growth. Current clinical trials include: prostate, pancreas (all stages), and colorectal cancers that no longer respond to standard therapies. Capture treatment using macrobeads in "Other Therapy". Assign code 2 for any experimental or newly developed treatment, such as this, that differs greatly from proven cancer therapy.
