Phosphorus-32, given as sodium phosphate ((32)P), is used intravenously in the treatment of polycythaemia vera. Sodium phosphate ((32)P) is also employed intravenously in the treatment of chronic myeloid and chronic lymphocytic leukemia and in the palliative treatment of bone metastases; radioactive agent, diagnostic aid.
