A thymic peptide with immunomodulatory activity. Designated an orphan product for use in the treatment of chronic active hepatitis B, hepatocellular carcinoma and DiGeorge anomaly with immune defects. Thymalfasin is a component of thymosin fraction 5 (a crude thymus gland extract).
